Illustration & Drawing Blog from Dave Mottram
Saw this on Rogie’s blog – A quote from Seth Godin. This really struck me how true this is…
Another interesting take on this can be found in this interview of Penn Jillette and his thoughts on Dean Martin.
I’ve gone through phases when I thought my work wasn’t any good because it wasn’t selling. Then i would come to my senses and remember that I made art for years just for the pleasure of it Art brought me joy and put meaning into my life. That’s enough.
So well put Susan.
That’s absolutely right Susan. I have made that mistake for years.
I agree with all of this. When people ask me in the 3D community I pro-develop in, where do I get my ideas from, I say from me. I don’t create things for other people. I create them because it is what I like. Either they buy them or they don’t. Thank you for sharing Dave and Susan.
Great post; I read Seth’s blog daily – anybody who puts in any kind of work should start the day off with his blog!
