Funky Pieces of Silver

Horace Silver

Illustration of Horace Silver back in the 60′s. Song for My Father remains one of my all-time favorites. One of the fathers of the Hard Bop. I was asked by Philippe Debongnie to contribute to his blog – Jazz and Draw. I was glad to contribute. Check out the blog and especially if you love jazz. Cool to see different artists riffing on different musicians.  I hope to add a few more pieces to this blog in the future.

Meet the BEATLES!

I was inspired by the old cartoon version and also the style of a Moleskine sketched page…

O Brother, Where Art Thou

Tommy Johnson from O Brother, Where Art Thou

Love this movie! Sketch of Tommy Johnson from the movie “O Brother, Where Art Thou.” This movie has some amazing characters, Big Dan Teague, Pappy O’Daniel, Homer Stokes, Delmar, Pete, Everett and George “Don’t Call Me Babyface” Nelson. So many sketches I wanna do, so little time.

Blues Man Portrait Sketch

I wanted this to have a cool, musical border around it. Also, I wanted to have an old classic feel by having him in an oval shape. I like the sketch and soon I hope to be able to paint it.
